Welcome to the Thornton Heath Community Action Team’s Planter Project! Our mission is to make Thornton Heath a greener, cleaner, and more vibrant place to live by installing and maintaining planters throughout the neighbourhood.

Since the project’s inception, we’ve installed over 80 planters, all of which are designed, built, planted and looked after by local ‘Planter Guardian’ volunteers and members of the Action Team. We believe that these planters add a wonderful touch to our community, and we hope that you agree.

But we can’t do it alone. We need your help to keep the project going and growing.

Here are some ways that you can get involved:

Adopt a Planter

Would you and a perhaps a few neighbours like to adopt and maintain a planter? We’ll provide you with all the necessary guidance and support to help you get started.

Suggest a Planter Location

Do you know of a spot near you that would benefit from having a planter? Maybe a spot that’s prone to fly-tipping, or an area that could use a bit of sprucing up? Let us know, and we’ll work with you to get a planter installed there.

Help Maintain a Planter

Do you have a planter near you that could do with some tlc? If so, can you adopt it or give the current guardian some help maintaining it by litter picking and watering? Every little bit helps, and we appreciate any support you can provide.

Physical Support

Are you handy with tools or a paintbrush and would like to help with the physical support in making a planter, installing or removing ones which are to be relocated? We could always use an extra set of hands!

Donate Plants

Do you have some spare plants that you would like to donate to the project? We would be extremely grateful for any contributions.

Our Planter Project has proven to be an excellent way to bring our community together, promote a cleaner and greener environment, and add some beauty to our neighbourhood. If you would like to get involved, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’d love to hear from you!
